What encryption method should I use?

Passwords

  • Whenever you setup a new wireless router, always ensures that any default passwords are changed. This refers to the actual Wi-Fi default password as well as the Admin management interface.
  • Keep passwords complex! A mix of upper case, and lower case letters, and numbers is a good place to start

Keep an eye on your device list

  • Most routers will allow you to view a list of connected wireless devices. It is good practice to periodically check to see if there are any erroneous devices connected to your network
